Who we are

Lorentz is operated by Kaila Elizabeth Sutton, a sole trader trading as Lorentz (ABN 59 408 563 032). "We", "us" and "our" mean Kaila Elizabeth Sutton trading as Lorentz. We build websites, apps and software tools that trade businesses use to receive and manage customer enquiries, jobs, quotes, invoices and service communications. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Information we collect

Depending on how you deal with us, we may collect your name, business name, mobile number, email address, address, enquiry and job details, messages and call records, photos or documents you choose to send, payment status (not full card details), and records of when and how you gave SMS consent. If you use our website we may also collect basic technical information such as your browser type and pages visited.

How we use information

• To receive and respond to enquiries, including requests for a free website and app preview.
• To contact you about your enquiry, appointment, quote, invoice, job or customer-service conversation.
• To provide our software and services to trade businesses that use Lorentz.
• To keep SMS consent and communication records.
• To fix problems, keep the service secure and prevent fraud, misuse and unauthorised access.
• To meet our legal, tax and record-keeping obligations.

Submitting an enquiry or texting a business does not give permission for unrelated marketing messages.

SMS and mobile-number privacy

If you tick an SMS consent box on an enquiry form, your consent applies only to service-related messages from the named business about your enquiry or customer-service conversation.

We do not sell, rent, share, transfer or exchange mobile phone numbers or SMS opt-in consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.

You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message.

Service providers

We use trusted providers to run the service, including Twilio (SMS and calls), Supabase (database hosting), Vercel (app hosting), Webflow (website hosting), Stripe (payments) and Sentry (error monitoring). Some of these providers store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union. They may only use information to provide services to us and may not use it, or SMS consent, for their own marketing.

When we disclose information

• To the service providers listed above, so we can operate the service.
• To the trade business you are dealing with, where you contact them through a Lorentz-powered form, number or app.
• To government authorities or others where required or authorised by law.
• Where necessary to protect people, property or legal rights.

We do not sell personal information.

Security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes above, including keeping consent records and meeting legal obligations, and then delete or de-identify it.

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask to access or correct your personal information, or make a privacy complaint, by emailing kaila.liz.sutton@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page with its effective date.
